Don has extensive experience conducting on-farm projects for government and agricultural producer associations to evaluate the environmental impact of agricultural production on soil, water and air quality to help determine improved farming practices. He has evaluated risk to soils in land resource assessments using soil survey and CLI for LEAR, GLASI, LEADS, and soil management and remediation in linear corridor projects.
Don is a certified Nutrient Management Plan Consultant and Certified Crop Advisor with widespread experience developing more than 200 plans and site specific agronomic recommendations for producers. Don has led agricultural investigations in association with hydrogeologists (Golder Associates, Lotowater, Waterloo University) and with municipalities (Oxford, Wellington, Waterloo, York, Niagara) to assess threats to drinking water sources associated with agriculture and develop beneficial management practices.
